The construction of the waterside great wall commenced in1404, two years before the Ming dynasty moved its capital to Beijing, and continued for 188 years. Nowadays, we could still see the ancient remains of the bitty walls stand still while the local county government constructed a supporting wall on the side to keep the old remains of the wall not to fall down.
